Volunteer With Us

Support Your Community

At United Way of the Cape Fear Area, we’re proud to support the vital missions of our community partners who work every day to make a difference. While we currently host two major volunteer events each year, Day of Caring and Day of Action, we’re always happy to connect individuals interested in regular volunteering with our partner organizations that could use an extra hand. Together, we can create lasting impact across our community.

Day of Caring

Day of Caring is a community engagement event focused on expressing love for our community through service and acts of kindness on or around February 14th. United Way partners with some of our local nonprofits to host drives, gather volunteers, and give back on Valentine’s Day!

Day of Action

Day of Action is a global United Way event held each year on or around June 21, bringing communities together to create lasting change. Here in the Cape Fear area, we’re joining the movement by offering three ways to get involved: donate directly, set up a collection box, or volunteer with us to sort and pack donation kits. We assemble Birthday Kits and Basic Essentials Kits to support local individuals and families, which will be distributed through our nonprofit partners.
